Dato’ Helmi, 59, holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from San Diego State University, USA and an MBA from Cranfield University, UK. He is a registered Professional Engineer (PE) with the Board of Engineers, Malaysia.
Having started his career in offshore geotechnical investigation in 1989, he became the Executive Director of Teknik Lengkap Sdn Bhd (TL), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Crest Petroleum Berhad (now Sapura Energy) in year 2000. While at Crest Petroleum, he was also a director of TL Geotechnics, TL Geohydrographics, Boustead-TL and Tioman Drilling. He left TL in 2003 to start own company called Asian Geos Sdn Bhd (AG). In 2011, he formed a joint venture with Gardline Geosciences Limited, UK resulting in his company Helms Geomarine taking over majority control of AG in Malaysia. He was the Managing Director of AG and a director of various group companies including Asian Geos (S) Pte Ltd, Asia Geos Singapore Pte Ltd, Asian Geos Labuan, PT. Asian Geos and Gardline Egypt S.A. He left AG in 2016 to activate Helms Geomarine as a geotechnical survey operator on its own right.
Dato’ Helmi has been active in the international geotechnical engineering and geophysical survey business for over 33 years.
Syahril Ikhwan, 36, holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from Portland State University, USA and a Diploma in Civil Engineering from University of Technology MARA, Malaysia.
He started working in Asian Geos Sdn Bhd in July 2008 and upon obtaining his engineering degree, he first worked with Intecsea WorleyParsons as a Structural/Geotechnical Engineer.
He re-joined Asian Geos in 2012 as a Geotechnical Engineer with his last position in the company as a Senior Commercial Engineer. He has worked onboard getechnical vessels as a geotechnical engineer and team leader throughout South East Asia.
In October 2016 he was transferred to Helms Geomarine as a Technical Manager and took on a leading role to develop the geotechnical capabilities and management of Helms Geomarine including working as team leader for projects in Taiwan and Korea.
He has now assumed the role of General Manager to oversee the day to day management of the Company and to further expand the capabilities of the company.

Firdaus Shahidan, 34, holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering holder from University of Technology Malaysia.
Firdaus has more than 10 years of experience in offshore geotechnical engineering, operation and site management internationally with Geoquip Marine and Horizon Geosciences as well as locally with Sapura Geosciences and Asian Geos. He also has worked as Client Site Representative (CSR) for both oil & gas and offshore windfarm clients in Asia and Europe.
He joined Helms in October 2022 as the Deputy General Manager bringing in his experience working with various international offshore geotechnical companies to develop and implement best practices within the company.
Halim Jaafar, 52, is a Chartered Accountant and a member of Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) with more than 25 years of experience in project financial management including with Schlumberger and Orogenic Group.
His forte is in setting up and managing Finance and Accounting functions for various industries as well as Process Improvement for existing systems.
His current responsibilities include managing the company’s finances & corporate matters, financial planning, management of financial risks, record-keeping and financial reporting.

Najib Sani, 42, holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Technology MARA, Malaysia.
He started working as Geotechnical Engineer with Asian Geos Sdn Bhd in 2005, his last position in the company as the Project Manager. He has worked offshore as geotechnical engineer and team leader on numerous offshore geotechnical projects in Europe, Caspian Sea and Asia.
Najib has over 17 years of experience in offshore geotechnical operation and management and is currently managing the long term geotechnical projects of Helms Geomarine ensuring all the Clients requirement and project resources are met.
Hatta Safruddin, 42, graduated from South Tyneside College, UK with a Higher National Diploma in Marine Engineering and have 19 years of experience in the offshore industry with 11 years in the QHSE management and operation.
With his extensive experience in Management Systems auditing (ISO 9001, 14001, 45001, ISM, ISPS & MLC), Safety Planning & Program Management, Emergency Response Plan, Site Inspections, Risk & Hazard Assessments (HAZOP, JSA, CRA), Regulatory & Safety Compliance and Project & Progress Reporting will contribute to the company’s HSE goals for zero LTI, zero fatality, zero major fire and zero LOPC.

Rosnita Esa, 43, graduated from University of Malaya with a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering and has 18 years of experience in offshore, nearshore and onshore soil investigation both in design consultancy and operation.
She has worked on multiple geotechnical vessels for oil and gas projects and even promoted to Party Chief to lead the soil boring vessel operation before developing her career in geotechnical QA/QC and design.
She is now leading the Engineering Department and responsible for the geotechnical engineering analysis, software development and QA/QC of offshore in-situ test data.
Aizat Aziz, 35, has a background in Mechanical Engineering with more than 11 years of experience in offshore geophysical, geotechnical, metocean and structural monitoring services including 6 years of experience with FUGRO.
He is currently in charge of all technical matters relating to the drilling, CPT and laboratory owned and operated by the Company to ensure operational readiness of the Company’s geotechnical assets.
His hands on knowledge on both equipment operation as well as logistics will boost the operational reliability of the Company.
