HELMS Successfully Completes Offshore Soil Investigation for SHELL in Offshore Sarawak

Bintulu, 15 November 2024 – Helms Geomarine Sdn Bhd (HELMS) proudly announces the successful completion of a critical offshore soil investigation campaign for Sarawak Shell Berhad (SHELL), conducted off the coast of Sarawak. The completion of this project highlights HELMS’ ongoing support for Malaysia’s oil and gas sector by consistently delivering reliable geotechnical survey services, minimizing any potential delays to the Clients’ drilling plans.

Commencing in early November 2024, the project involved comprehensive soil sampling and CPT testing to depths of up to 50 meters whilst continuously monitoring the presence of shallow gas on site. Despite challenging monsoon weather, HELMS leveraged on its advanced equipment and a highly skilled team to deliver results on time whilst maintaining quality of the deliverables.

This achievement not only reinforces HELMS’ reputation as a trusted provider of offshore geotechnical services but also strengthens its longstanding partnership with SHELL. HELMS holds a long-term contract with SHELL as well as other major players such as PETRONAS and Carigali Hess Operating Company (CHOC) in Malaysia.
