HELMS is now a PETRONAS License holder for Offshore Soil Investigation

Kuala Lumpur, 16 January 2018 – Helms Geomarine Sdn Bhd (HELMS) was first registered as a license holder with Petroliam Nasional Berhad (PETRONAS) in June 2017.

Following the complete exit of HELMS and owner of the company Dato’ Ir Mohd Helmi Zulkawi from Asian Geos Sdn Bhd last year, HELMS had applied for the additional category of Offshore Soil Investigation to be included in the approved license. Today, the application for the additional category was duly approved.

The license is valid for a period of three years from 8th June 2017 until 7th June 2020, and subject to any renewal thereafter. As a registered license holder, Helms will be able to participate directly in all tenders with PETRONAS and other major energy corporations including oil companies who are registered with PETRONAS for the relevant categories which now includes the offshore soil investigation.

HELMS is a member of the Helms group of companies. The group via another subsidiary called Helms Mooring & Anchoring Solutions Sdn Bhd (Helms MAS) has recently ventured into the mooring and anchoring business. Helms MAS’ core activity comprises the engineering and supply of mooring and anchoring for Floating Systems together with the inspections and monitoring of existing facilities and installation assistance services worldwide.
