HELMS inks an MOU with Mosestide of Korea
Kuala Lumpur, 23 August 2018 – Helms Geomarine Sdn Bhd (Helms Geo) and Mosestide Pte Ltd of Singapore (Mosestide) recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU). The MOU signals a commitment by both companies to explore opportunities available within the specialized offshore geotechnical investigation and survey services in East Asia, particularly in Korea and Taiwan.
MOSESTIDE has a branch office in Korea, providing among others ship management, offshore construction equipment, heavy cargo transportation, offshore shipping agency, ship repair and docking arrangement in the Southeast Asia and Korea.
According to this MOU, both Parties wish to co-operate exclusively with each other and combine their resources and for MOSESTIDE to lead in marketing and securing contracts in Korea.
Managing Director, Dato’ Helmi Zulkawi said: “Helms has made a substantial capital investment on specialized geotechnical drill rig and in-situ testing tools that are now working in offshore Taiwan. I hope that this MOU signing event will present Helms with more opportunities to participate in projects in East Asia, taking advantage of the cooperation with Mosestide.”
HELMS is a Malaysian company providing marine geotechnical engineering and surveys servicing the commercial offshore sectors which include the Renewables and Oil and Gas industries. HELMS operates a shallow water geotechnical drilling vessel the Patra Offshore, a Seabed CPT Neptune 5000 and Vibrocoring Units. Helms Geo intends to mobilize another drilling spread by Q2 2019 in conjunction with the proposed cooperation with Mosestide who in turn will provide a DP vessel.
