HELMS gets LOI for a 3-year Contract in the GCC

Kuala Lumpur, 9 September 2018 – Helms Geomarine Sdn Bhd (HELMS) received today a Letter of Intent (LOI) from a reputable state-owned company in Abu Dhabi for the provision of geotechnical equipment, laboratory testing, geotechnical drilling and engineering personnel to support a DP2 geotechnical vessel deployment to cover the GCC and South Asia markets.

HELMS has formally accepted the Contract for a duration of three (3) years.

Managing Director, Dato’ Helmi Zulkawi said: “We used to own a UAE-based company for several years and the local outfit had performed some drilling works in offshore Abu Dhabi in 2015. This new project marks the re-entry of the HELMS group into the Middle-east market and I hope this will present us with more opportunities to participate in projects focusing on its core competence which is the offshore geotechnical drilling and engineering services.”

HELMS has made a substantial capital investment on specialized geotechnical drill rig and in-situ testing tools that are now working in offshore Taiwan. The company is therefore looking seriously into acquiring more of the strategic assets in the near future to better serve the growing clients and meet the project demands.
