Kuala Lumpur, 11 October 2018 – As part of the company’s engineering capability enhancement, Helms Geomarine Sdn Bhd (HELMS) engaged Datgel Pty Ltd (Datgel) of Australia to improve the efficiency of the borehole logs production and CPT data processing.

Datgel, whom is a member of the Bentley Systems Developer Network, and a Silver ISV Microsoft Partner, has been providing specialist software, advice, training and support to geotechnical and geo-environment engineering firms worldwide for more than 12 years.

With the support of Datgel’s diverse team of software architects, developers and geotechnical engineers, HELMS is able to  customize its core geotechnical reporting software, the gINT Professional by Bentley Systems Inc.

The development of HELMS’ own customized gINT software includes the acquisition of two of Datgel’s main products; the DGD Tool and CPT Tool. The combined utilization of the DGD Tool and the CPT Tool exponentially reduces the time required for engineers to generate the borelogs and subsequently the design profile through its specialized features such as the multi-format file import, automatic data correction tool, productivity tools for ease of data entry as well as customized data accuracy calculations.

Senior Technical Manager, Syahril Ikhwan, said ” This new addition will be of tremendous benefit to our base of Clients as the geotechnical report production can potentially be done in a shorter time period than normally required. This is especially advatngeous for Jack-up Leg Penetration Analysis (LPA) projects where jack-up rig emplacement approval is urgent either due to a need to relocate the location or a jack-up rig is already on standy at location.”

HELMS will continue to expand its range of engineering capabilities to support the ever-changing requirements and increasing level of standard required by the commercial offshore industry.
