HELMS Achieves 1 Million Safe Manhours Without Lost Time Injury (LTI)
Kuala Lumpur, 10 June 2026 – Helms Geomarine Sdn Bhd (HELMS) proudly celebrated a major milestone during HELMS HSE Day 2026, achieving 1 Million Safe Manhours Without Lost Time Injury (LTI) while also officially launching our new expanded office space at Level 9, Menara Hidayah.
The event was honoured by the presence of Mr. Suhaimi Ahmad, General Manager, Head of HSEQ PE&T, Ir. Ts. Khairan Syuhada Kassim, Acting Head of DPD Construction and Ms. Salina Salleh, Manager of Soil Investigation from PETRONAS.
We were also honoured to welcome representatives from our valued clients SHELL, PPJO and PTTEP, whose continued confidence in HELMS has provided us with opportunities to contribute to some of the region’s most important offshore developments.
We also extend our sincere appreciation to our strategic partners, financial institutions, industry colleagues and friends for their presence and continued support.
In his address, our Managing Director, Dato’ Ir. Helmi Zulkawi, described the achievement as a reflection of the commitment, discipline and professionalism demonstrated by every member of the HELMS family:
“This achievement is more than a number. It reflects the belief embraced across our organization that no task is so urgent that it cannot be performed safely.”
Congratulating HELMS on the achievement, Mr. Suhaimi Ahmad reminded us that:
“One million hours isn’t just a number on a dashboard. It represents more than two years of commitment and sacrifices, where every single person went to work, looked out for one another, and returned home safely to their families.”
He further emphasized that:
“Safety isn’t just about the absence of incidents. It is about the presence of defences, and that starts with leadership.”
Representing DPD Construction, Ir. Ts. Khairan Syuhada Kassim reminded us that:
“Safety is not a checklist. It is not a slogan. It is a mindset and a way of working.”
As HELMS continues to grow with the addition of the DP2 geotechnical vessel Keyfield Itqan and the dedicated survey vessel Masindra Hawk, while further expanding our integrated offshore geotechnical and geophysical survey capabilities, we remain firmly guided by PETRONAS’ aspiration that:
“Mission Zero is Possible – Zero Harm, Zero Incident, Zero Compromise.”
This milestone belongs to every HELMS employee, client, partner, and stakeholder who has contributed to building a strong safety culture founded on leadership, vigilance, learning and care for one another.
Together, we remain committed to making Mission Zero Possible.
