Another Successful Campaign for HELMS in the UAE

Abu Dhabi, 24 April 2019 – The geotechnical team of Helms Geomarine Sdn Bhd (HELMS) completed its second geotechnical drilling campaign from the geotechnical vessel DP2 Pioneer. This second project which is a follow on project by the same national oil company was awarded after a successful first campaign with National Petroleum Construction Company (NPCC).

The second project which the geotechnical team was deployed together with NPCCs ROV team involved shallow drilling of up to 5 meters including downhole CPT testing. It was also a daylight only operation for safety reasons due to the high traffic in the area where the team was working.

Senior Project Manager, Najib Sani said after completion of the project: “The management of NPCC were delighted with our performance and the Head of Geotechnical Operations had personally thanked our personnel for their hard work and commitment given to the project.”

Most of the team are now back in Malaysia as plans are now being made to re-mobilize on another drilling spread as well as future ventures into the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
