HELMS Celebrates Completion of Keyfield Itqan’s First Series of Campaigns in Offshore Sarawak

Bintulu, 9 August 2026 – Helms Geomarine Sdn Bhd (HELMS) has successfully completed the first series of offshore geotechnical investigation campaigns undertaken by Keyfield Itqan, covering three project sites in Sarawak waters.

The completion marks an important operational milestone for the DP2 with 4-Point Mooring vessel following its recent mobilization into HELMS’ active offshore fleet. Equipped with the HELMS HG50 deepwater drilling system, an onboard soil laboratory, with four dynamic positioning reference systems, Keyfield Itqan was deployed to acquire the geotechnical data for foundation design in both shallow water and deepwater.

The successful execution of the three campaigns was made possible through close coordination among the vessel crew, project and operations teams, geotechnical and HSE personnel, together with the cooperation of the respective clients and project partners.

Following the completion of its Sarawak campaign, Keyfield Itqan will mobilize to Sabah waters for its next offshore assignment. Meanwhile, Keyfield Helms 1 is mobilizing for another major offshore geotechnical investigation campaign covering four project sites in Terengganu waters.

The concurrent deployment of both vessels reflects HELMS’ expanding self-operated capabilities and its capacity to execute multiple offshore geotechnical investigation campaigns across Malaysian waters.

HELMS extends its appreciation to everyone involved for their professionalism, teamwork and commitment throughout the campaigns, and wishes the teams onboard both Keyfield Itqan and Keyfield Helms 1 for a safe and successful onward operations.
