HELMS Secures Offshore Soil Investigation Contract from Searah (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd
Kuala Lumpur, 1 July 2026 – Helms Geomarine Sdn Bhd (HELMS) has secured a contract from Searah (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd (Searah) for the provision of Offshore Soil Investigation Services, further strengthening its position as a key local partner in Malaysia’s upstream oil and gas sector.
The award comes as Searah officially begins operations as a new independent upstream energy company established by PETRONAS and Eni, bringing together selected strategic assets across Malaysia and Indonesia under a single regional platform. The formation of Searah marks a significant development in Southeast Asia’s upstream landscape, aimed at enhancing operational efficiency, portfolio optimisation and long-term value creation.
Under the contract, which takes effect from 1 July 2026 until 22 May 2027, with options for extension, HELMS will support Searah’s offshore asset development and field activities through the provision of offshore soil investigation services, delivering the geotechnical data required to facilitate engineering planning and field execution.
The award reflects HELMS’ continued ability to support both established operators and emerging energy players with dependable offshore geotechnical solutions, built on years of operational experience across Malaysia and regional markets.
With a growing portfolio spanning conventional oil and gas, carbon capture and storage (CCS), and offshore renewable energy, HELMS continues to expand its footprint as an integrated offshore geotechnical and marine survey solutions provider, serving both domestic and international markets.
