HELMS Awarded Long-Term Offshore Soil Investigation Contract for PETRONAS CCS Business
Kuala Lumpur, 25 June 2026 – Helms Geomarine Sdn Bhd (HELMS) is proud to announce the award of a long-term contract by PETRONAS CCS Solutions Sdn Bhd (PCCSS) to provide offshore soil investigation services supporting PETRONAS’ Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) developments across Malaysia.
The contract, awarded for an initial three-year period with an option to extend for a further two years, covers offshore geotechnical investigations for future CCS infrastructure, including carbon storage facilities, injection wells, offshore platforms, subsea pipelines and related offshore developments.
Under the contract, HELMS will provide a comprehensive range of offshore geotechnical services, including offshore drilling and sampling, downhole CPTu testing, laboratory testing, pile capacity and jack-up assessments, drivability analysis, and geotechnical reporting to support engineering design and project execution.
This award represents another significant milestone in HELMS’ growth and reinforces the company’s position as one of Malaysia’s leading offshore site investigation specialists. Over the past 15 years, HELMS has successfully supported offshore oil & gas, renewable energy and, increasingly, CCS developments across Malaysia and internationally.

The contract will be executed using HELMS’ expanding fleet of specialized offshore assets, including its newly commissioned DP2 and 4-point mooring geotechnical vessel, Keyfield Itqan, equipped with advanced offshore drilling, sampling, downhole CPT and onboard geotechnical laboratory facilities.
