HELMS Expands Offshore Survey Portfolio through MoU with UGEOS

Kuala Lumpur, 10 November 2025 – Helms Geomarine Sdn Bhd (HELMS) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Ugeo Solutions Sdn Bhd (UGEOS) to collaborate in delivering Offshore Geophysical Survey Services for the Oil & Gas and Renewable Energy sectors.

This strategic partnership builds upon HELMS’ recent success in obtaining new PETRONAS Licenses for Offshore Site Investigation and Offshore Positioning services, marking another significant milestone in HELMS’ transformation from a geotechnical specialist into a fully integrated offshore geophysical and geotechnical survey service provider.

Under this MoU, HELMS and UGEOS will jointly pursue offshore geophysical survey projects, combining UGEOS’ hydrographic and geophysical expertise as well as data processing capabilities with HELMS’ offshore operational experience, project management capabilities and financial strength. Together, both companies will deliver seamless, single-point solutions for integrated offshore site investigation campaigns across Malaysia and international waters.

The collaboration also supports HELMS’ plan to operate dedicated offshore survey vessels and 2D High-Resolution (2DHR) equipment, enhancing the company’s capability to deliver end-to-end site characterization services, from seabed mapping and sub-bottom profiling to geotechnical drilling and laboratory testing.

The signing ceremony was held at HELMS’ head office in Kuala Lumpur, attended by senior representatives from HELMS and UGEOS. The event reflects a shared vision to advance Malaysia’s offshore survey and data-acquisition capabilities through collaboration driven by local expertise and innovation.
